Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain is a senior banking executive with over 31 years of experience in corporate and wholesale banking, credit risk, trade finance, treasury, and business strategy. He currently serves as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer of Mercantile Bank PLC, leading key business divisions and contributing to the Bank’s strategic growth and governance.
Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Bank Asia PLC and Eastern Bank PLC. Dr. Hossain holds a DBA in Strategic Management and an MBA in Finance from IBA, University of Dhaka, along with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Finance. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member, contributed to international research, and remains actively involved in professional and community organisations.
